Kirk Hopper Fine Art is pleased to announce Bryan Florentin's solo exhibition in the Main Gallery. In the exhibition Inscrutable Evidence, Florentin examines the contradiction between that which is incapable of being investigated, analyzed, or scrutinized and that which tends to prove or disprove something.

Installation view

Through photographs and objects, Florentin confronts the possibilities of containers and their contents and the instances in which one becomes the other or at least the difference between the two is blurred. Both container and contents are subject to various forms of damage, corruption or malfunctioning: torn, crumpled, mutilated, punctured, broken, fractured, stained, etc. In the process, the artist takes a poetic approach to ontology and phenomenology.

Bryan Florentin is currently Senior Lecturer of Art at the University of Texas at Arlington, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1993, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Texas, Denton, in 1998, studying art history with an emphasis on critical theory. He received his MFA in Photography in 1998 from the University of North Texas, Denton.
