August 16-September 13, 2014
Opening reception Saturday, August 16, 6:30-8:30 pm

Kirk Hopper Fine Art is pleased to announce Ctrl+V: Collage at KHFA, a group exhibition featuring the work of guest collage artist Jay Riggio along with work by gallery artists Alejandro Diaz-Ayala, Bryan Florentin, Carlos Donjuan, Chubirka, Luke Harnden, and Martin Delabano. Collage, by nature, is process rather than technically driven allowing the artist to focus on the content and context of their visual plane. In an age where cutting and pasting, in its many forms, is frequently done in a clumsy way, Ctrl+V wishes to explore how artists from various backgrounds thoughtfully use collage to bring their ideas and concepts to life.

Ctrl+V will include collage work from gallery artists with backgrounds in painting, photography, multimedia, and drawing and will be the first KHFA show for guest collage artist Jay Riggio. Brooklyn-based Riggio draws on influences from his background in writing and cinematography using images from vintage magazines and books to create collages that explore his interpretations on subjects such as life, dreams, humanity, and humor.
