American Album, Volume I

A new solo exhibition by Michael Arcieri
September 3–24, 2011
Artist reception Saturday, September 10, 6:30–8:30 pm

American Album, Volume I, explores the variety of memories and asks to what extent are memories shaped by a person's ability to remember the past? These recalled moments in time are unique to each human being. American Album, Volume I captures a revealing view of Arcieri's interpretation of Americana. The imagery spans generations providing an intriguing glimpse at a photo album of "thought images." These ambiguous yet familiar images of people, places and events accelerate the boundaries of representational painting.

Michael Arcieri received his degree from the Art Institute of Houston. Arcieri has held solo exhibitions in Baltimore, Houston and New Orleans. Group exhibitions include Lawndale Art Center in Houston and the 20th Anniversary Exhibit at the Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
